Interrail journey from Munich to Rome by ÖBB nightjet
To travel from Munich to Rome, you have an excellent connection by ÖBB nightjet. The departure and arrival times of the trains are perfect, so that you have at least 12 to 13 hours in the train. Enough time to sleep, but also to enjoy the journey in the night train.
Sadly the reservation fees aren’t that cheap anymore for Interrailers. On the other hand you save the money for a hostel.
